Videos that circulate on social networks show the moment when he receives a slap from a military policeman and is pulled by his neck during the arrest.

Several people came out in defense of the influencer, who was taken to the Flagrant Police Station (Defla). Barbosa got bruises on her face.

This Saturday (22), the influencer’s legal advice issued a public note, repudiating the attitude of the agent, which has not yet been identified.

“Influencer Rafael Barbosa de Souza expresses his repudiation of the violent and unjustified action of a military police officer from the state of Acre during a peaceful protest with residents of the neighborhoods João Paulo and Boa Vista, in Baixada da Sobral. The case has gained repercussions on social networks and the press across the country, ”says an excerpt from the note.

Following, the influencer’s defense states that the agent committed abuse of power.

“Every citizen has the constitutional right to comment peacefully, including to question the performance of the public power, as Rafael did. In the images released, you can see a policeman assaulting Rafael with a slap on the face, which demonstrates clear abuse of power. Although the police have a duty to maintain order, the use of force should always follow the law and be proportional. We believe that the attitude of this policeman does not reflect the principles of the Military Police of the State of Acre, ”he added.

In the end, the legal team said that it will seek the court to denounce the case, through the State Public Prosecution Service (MPAC) and the Military Police Corregedoria.

“We demand the immediate calculation of aggressions, as shown in the videos released. Rafael will seek justice through the Public Prosecution Service, the Military Police and Justice Office ”, concludes the note signed by the legal team of Rafael Barbosa de Souza.
