Trump attended the annual meeting of the Conservative Political Action Conference (Conservative Political Action Conference), which began last Wednesday, 19, and ends this Saturday.
During his speech, Trump mentioned the presence of federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL), who stood from the audience and was applauded by those present.
“And a friend of mine, Eduardo Bolsonaro, from Brazil, from the Chamber of Deputies. Send ‘Ola’ to your father. Large family. Great man and great family, ”said the US president.
Bolsonaro did not attend the event because his passport is retained. Because of this, it is forbidden to travel abroad.
The measure has been in force since February 2023 and has been part of the investigation into the attempted coup d’état after the 2022 elections.
Bolsonaro denounced by PGR
Former President Jair Bolsonado (PL) was reported last Tuesday, 18, by the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) for attempted coup after the election of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT) in 2022.
In a statement, Bolsonaro’s defense stated that the former president “never compatted with any movement aimed at deconstructing the democratic rule of law or the institutions that pave him.” He also claimed to have received with “bearing and indignation the complaint of the Attorney General’s Office”
