President cites “injustices” faced by condemned allies and resembles his own arrest during a speech in Rio de Janeiro
During the 45th anniversary of the (Workers Party) in Rio de Janeiro, the president (PT) made a public defense of José Dirceu, Delúbio Soares and João Vaccari, who were sentenced and arrested in the cases of monthly and Car Wash.
“Zé Dirceu knows what it is to be a victim of lies. Companion Delúbio also knows. Companion Vaccari is not here today […] They 1 tell lies to try to destroy us. I know what they did to me ”said Lula, remembering his 580 days in prison in Curitiba, between 2018 and 2019.
Dirceu and Delúbio were arrested during the trial of the monthly, and Dirceu also faced a new arrest in Lava-Jato, alongside Vaccari. The 3 remained affiliated to the PT and refused to sign awarded delation agreements with the MPF (Federal Prosecutor).
PT Party
The PT held this Saturday (22.Fev.2025) the celebration of the 45th anniversary of the foundation of the acronym, on February 10. The popular party takes place in downtown Rio de Janeiro. This year, the event was open to the public, without ticket collection, but with prior registration.
On the official website, the party asked participants to arrive earlier, “So that they can make their accreditation more peacefully.” The format differ from the party held in 2024, in which tickets.
The act with Lula began around 10:50 am. There was a delay of almost 50 minutes.
