Russian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Riabkov announced the planned negotiations with the US on the topics of bilateral relations.
Russian and American diplomats will meet at the end of next week to talk about problematic points in relationships between the two countries. Deputy Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Riabkov said this on Sunday for the TASS news agency, to which they refer to AFP and Reuters.
The meeting will be held after interviews of Foreign Ministers of Russia and USA Sergei Lavrov and Marc Rubi, who discussed war in Ukraine and possible normalization of relationships in the Saudi Riyadh in Saudi Arabia.
“We are open to contact with the United States, especially as regards the topics that disrupt our bilateral relationships,” Riabkov said. “We expect real progress during the meeting that will be held at the end Sections of Foreign Ministries.
According to Tass, Riabkov also explained that there are currently “quite a lot” contacts between Moscow and Washington, while both sides maintain communication in different areas.
