Beirut marches with anger and mourning at the funeral of Nasrallah under the roar of Israeli aircraft

Tens of thousands of people flooded the streets in front of the stadium of the Sports City, in the suburbs of the southern Beirut known as Dahye, marching to bury the leader of the Shiite Group Libanés Hizbulá, Hasan Nasrala, and to which his successor was, Hashem Safi Al DIN, both killed five months ago by Israel. In an Israeli air attack against Dahye, in the Beirut southern suburbs, followed a few days later by Safi to DIN.

Waving Hizbulá and Lebanon flags, the crowd moved in unison with marked samples of pain and anger, when Israeli warplanes flew over the area at low altitude, with a deafening rumble. However, no one flinhed or dispersed. Instead, songs of “Death to Israel broke out of” Death! “, Who turned the streets into a choir that drowned the sound of the planes.

Challenge against intimidation

Zahraa, one of the thousands of participating women, exploded in anger as Israeli aircraft overwhelmed the stadium suddenly: “If one of us goes to the south and throws a stone, the whole world puts against us (…) Sayyed (Hasan Nasrala) scared them alive and even after being martyred, that’s why they are doing this. “

In the first rows of the march, the voice of this woman rose above the screams of the other attendees. Zahraa toured the crowd with his gaze.

With his voice he cuts the persistent roar of the airplanes. “Hizbulá is increasingly strong. If they believe they have reached arsenal or Hizbulá’s weapons, we will turn Hizbulá into a weapon. We, the cradle of resistance, we will turn Hizbulá into a gun,” he told Efe.

The pain of a mother

Among the protesters was an old woman who suffered a very personal loss: she is the mother of two martyrs. His face, a mixture of pain and pride, revealed the complex emotions that many of those present shared. “We are here, but I keep denying that Sayyed Hasan (Nasrala) is a martyr. My heart is not calm,” he told Efe. “Our children, men, women and brothers, all of us sacrifice ourselves for Sayyed Hasan (Nasrala), the resistance and our country, the Lebanon. The most important thing for us is the resistance because it defends all the Lebanese without exception,” he added.

While Israeli war planes rumbled on her head, she looked up but remained firm. “War planes pass by our side, but that does not scare us,” he said with a serene challenge.

Throughout the procession, a Sunni woman reflected on Nasrala’s legacy and the unity he saw among the protesters. “We are here to say goodbye to Sayyed (Hasan Nasrala), and this is the least we can do. We have lost a great personality that cannot be replaced in history,” he said. “I’m Suní, and Sayyed defended Sunnis in Gaza. It’s a unique personality.” While the crowd swirled around him, he added: “It is increasing, and hopefully we are all resistant. The resistance remains resistance, and no one can erase it.”

Throughout the march, the Special Operations Force of Hizbulá, Radwan, was visibly present, but emerged at the end surrounding the coffins of the deceased. Dresses with complete military equipment, they advanced with a firm step through the crowded streets to the airport road, where Nasrala will be buried.

The attendees advanced stirring flags and singing songs to the passage of the solemn procession, flanked by combatants whose presence underlined the importance of the moment.
