Journalists with at least five years of experience in writing or as freelancers and English proficiency can apply for training Dart Center for Journalism and Trauma of Columbia University.
Aimed at professionals who seek to deepen their knowledge of emotional trauma and psychological damage, training also aims to improve the coverage of, conflicts and tragedies.
Those selected will participate in one week’s immersion at Columbia University campus, from July 29 to August 3. The program covers classes with trauma specialists and, as well as debates on ethics and good journalistic practices.
The opportunity is focused on reporters, photographers, editors and journalistic producers from around the world. Half of the vacancies are reserved for US professionals.
The scholarship covers round trip tickets, lodging, meals and course -related expenses such as transportation and travel insurance.
To participate, it is necessary to send resume, letter of interest, examples of relevant work published in the last two years and two letters of recommendation. Materials that are not in English must be translated.
