The Centro-right Christian Democratic Union (CDU) of Germany should return to power with the alternative to Germany, ultra-right, as the second largest party, show the polls of ballot box after the anticipated parliamentary elections.

The CDU party headquarters was taken by applause on Sunday night (23), when the polls were revealed. Outside the building, a small group of protesters gathered to protest against the party leader’s stance, Friedrich Merz, about immigration.

Merz declared Victoria at the event in downtown Berlin, telling the supporters: “Let’s start the party.”

If AA CDU will get 28.8% of the votes in Sunday’s elections, which means Merz – an old school conservative who has never held a governmental position previously – will become Germany’s new chancellor, Europe’s largest economy and More populous state.

The alternative to Ultra -right Germany (AFD) was second, according to research, with an unprecedented percentage of 20.2%, which means the party is now a great political force. However, AFD faces the exclusion of the government by other parties, which have closed an agreement against the Ultra right party.

The mood in AFD was of ecstasy when it was found that the party had almost doubled its support, with people applauding and shaking Germany flags. Party’s colicer Alice Weidel took the stage to tell the crowds that AFD “has never been so strong.”

The Center-left Social Democratic Party (SPD) of Chancellor Olaf Scholz is expected to be in third place with 16.2%-signaling a dramatic turnaround in the party’s luck since the 2021 elections, when he obtained 25.7% of those votes.

Also notable in the polls was the positive result of the socialist party Die Linke, which obtained 8.5% – a comfortable margin beyond the 5% threshold needed to enter Parliament.

The early elections were summoned after coalition led by Scholz, which brought together three ideologically different parties, collapsed.

Almost 60 million Germans were able to vote on Sunday, according to data from the country’s federal statistics office.

The preliminary results end a busy election period that attracted the extraordinary involvement of White House employees and intensified the debate on Germany’s immigration policies.

Trump impacted all over Europe after advancing with peace negotiations on Ukraine with Russia, excluding both Kiev and European leaders.

The reconstruction of Germany after the Nazi era occurred under the US -led NATO security alliance, and its later prosperity was fed by cheap Russian energy and trade with China.

“You’ll have a huge task ahead if you become a chancellor.”

Two recent deadly attacks, one in Magdeburg, before Christmas, and one in Munich last week – both perpetrated by immigrants with different motives – increased polarization in the period before Sunday’s vote.

AFD, which was accused of using immigrants such as scapegoat, called for the mass expulsion of immigrants, regardless of their citizenship status in Germany.

Both CDU and SPD also reinforced commitments to irregular immigration and internal security protection following recent attacks.

In the German system, it is difficult for any party to get enough votes to rule alone and it remains to know what form will take over negotiations for the

Some aspects, however, are already well defined: other main parties have made it clear that AFD will not be part of any negotiations, which means it is excluded from power for now.

It seems likely that Merz will appeal to Scholz’s social democrats-the other great centrist party in Germany-to build a government. Another potential coalition partner is the environmental green, which served in the Scholz coalition government.

It is not yet clear at this stage if Merz will need one or two partners to form the majority. Tripartite coalition governments in Germany are rare.

Overall, we need weeks of negotiation to form a new government, which will mean more political paralysis for Berlin at a time of greater uncertainty.
