Update
Joël Le Scouarnec trial ripped this Monday in France. Hundreds of crimes will have been committed between 1989 and 2014.
The case is shocking France for the magnitude and nature of abuse. A doctor, a surgeon in various hospitals in western France, will have sexually abused, between 1989 and 2014, of almost 300 children. The 73-year-old man is named Joël Le Scouarnec, and this Monday, the day he began to be tried, admitted to having committed “hateful acts.”
“The accused admits responsibility for the vast majority of acts,” said his lawyer today in court where the trial takes place in Vannes.
Le scouarnec had been sentenced to suspended penalty for two decades for attending pedophilia sites. However, in 2017, he was denounced by a girl. The police then discovered a diary where the abuses that the doctor says are narratives of sexual desires were described.
The court also wants to ascertain whether the doctor had the help of colleagues or the administrations of the various hospitals in which he worked.
