The Austrian greenhouse gas emissions have dropped by 26 percent since 2005. But what proportion of this can be attributed to climate policy – and which measures were actually effective? The fiscal council only dealt with the cost effectiveness of measures to save emissions last week. Politicians relate too much on popular but expensive grants such as the climate, while unpopular measures such as 100 on motorways on motorways had a much higher saving potential, was a result of a current study. In contrast, promotions of electric cars and heating exchange showed a high effect to achieve the climate goals. Austria has undertaken to reduce emissions by 48 percent compared to 2005 by 2030.
