Israel says military operation in the occupied West Bank should last at least a year, while thousands of Palestinians flee Jenin

Israel says that the troops parked at the Jenin Refugee Field in West Bank should remain in the region for at least one year. It was on Sunday that Hebrew state army tanks penetrated the region for the first time in 20 years, after the conflicts of the second intifada in 2005. Telavive says the army is in the region to combat terrorist movements, but the Palestinians say the ones Israel soldiers are destroying roads and civil infrastructures in a purpose. This Monday, the head of Israel’s diplomacy, Gideon Sa’ar, insisted that the only mission of Israel’s troops in Jenin is to fight terrorists.

Jenin’s Refugee Field was created in 1953 to welcome the expelled Palestinians or who fled the then created state of Israel and after the First Israelo-Arab War.
