First Lady invited the presidents and their women to watch “I’m still here,” Walter Salles’s movie; Both confirm presence
First Lady Janja da Silva personally invited the presidents of the House (Republicans-PB), and Senate (União Brasil-AP), and their women to watch a session of “I’m still here” in the palace of Alvorada. The event will be this Monday (24.FEV.2025) and, according to the Poder360the special guests of Janja accepted the invitation and will be present.
The session to see Walter Salles’s movie was conceived by the first lady and will have about 30 guests. In addition to Motta and Alcolumbre, there will be other congressmen, ministers more linked to the theme of the film, such as culture and justice, as well as family members of Marcelo Rubens Paiva and Eunice Rubens Paiva.
There should be no presence of artists such as the actors of the film, who received 3 Oscar nominations, including best film and best actress for Fernanda Torres.
Writer Marcelo Rubens Paiva, who wrote the book that inspired Salles’s adaptation, was invited but will not attend. Rubens Paiva’s 2 grandchildren will be present.
For months the president and the first lady wanted to watch the movie, but the logistics of going to a common cinema was considered unfeasible. For this reason, Janja and his team contacted the production of the feature to make the private session possible.
Lula has also been charged by allies to receive more people at home for political events where they can have access to the president. Janja was placed as one of the culprits for this isolation of the petista. The government’s analysis is that the organization of the film session would be a wave of the first lady in this direction.
In his first terms, the petista promoted barbecues and football games to oil the relationship with the legislature. Now the first lady Janja da Silva is cited as an obstacle even to talk to the president by phone. She would be more open to change this scenario.
Congressmen who are not from the petista base complain that the president is increasingly isolated and access to him is “difficult”. The event should not yet contemplate Centrão characters, for example, but is already seen as an advance in an attempt that Lula is more present in the daily life of politics.
