Writer was the target of attack during a tribute at Academics of Baixo Augusta, in São Paulo
A reveler threw a can of beer at writer Marcelo Rubens Paiva during the bass Augusta Academic Block parade in São Paulo (23.Fev.2025). The incident occurred before the procession began, which honored Paiva and the film I’m still here.
“It’s okay, it didn’t hurt. The guy threw beer in the face. I didn’t understand why I was attacked. Throw a can in the flag-faced face, wheelchair-bound, who wants to have fun ”said Paiva in an interview with UOL.
The attack generated riot and block members had to intervene to contain the situation. The public protested against the aggressiveness of the reveler.
