The Federal Police served, on the morning of Monday (24), search and seizure warrants in the offices of Judge Elci Simões, at the Court of Amazonas (TJAM), in Manaus, and Judge Jean Pimentel, in Presidente Figueiredo.
The operation was carried out in conjunction with the National Council of Justice (CNJ) and aimed to investigate alleged irregularities involving the magistrates, who were (21).
Both are accused of authorizing documents that enabled the removal of almost R $ 150 million from Eletrobras (). During the operation, electronic documents and equipment were seized that will be submitted to expertise in Brasilia.
Since the removal of the magistrates, the offices have been banned by determination of the CNJ, and the two are prohibited from accessing the places.
The decision was made based on a formal complaint that pointed to irregularities in the process that allowed the removal of the amount of Eletrobras. The case involves an execution of extrajudicial title opened in 2021 by Bruno Eduardo Thomé de Souza, who claims to be entitled to credits issued by the company in 1966. Eletrobras, in turn, disputes the validity of documents and accuses fraud in the decision.
The CNJ pointed out that the excessive speed in the progress of the process against Eletrobras did not match the work volume of the Single Court and that the judge acted without proper caution when analyzing the documents and the legitimacy of the beneficiaries. The disciplinary complaint, which is being confidential, gives the magistrates a period of five days to comment on the accusations.
