Reveler shot a can of beer against the writer during the parade of the Baixo Augusta Academic Block
Parliamentarians and political leaders expressed repudiation of aggression against Marcelo Rubens Paiva during the Baixo Augusta Academic Block in São Paulo (23.FEV.2025). A reveler tried to shoot a can of beer in the writer during honor of the movie I’m still herebased on his book on his father’s murder during the military dictatorship.
Guilherme Boulos (PSOL) classified the episode as “Fruit of hate speech propagated by the far right”. Deputy Ivan Valente (PSOL) pointed out that the honored film portrays “The murder of his father, Rubens Paiva, for the military dictatorship and the resistance of his mother, Eunice”.
André Janones (Avante) and Laura Sito (PT) associated the attack on pockets. “We need to end this extremism and these dictatorship worshipers (by legal way) urgently”declared Janones. Deputy Paulo Pimenta (PT) called the incident of “Coward act” against one “Symbol of culture, memory and democratic resistance”.
