With an audience at the Vannes Commune, Joël Le Scouarnec responds to accusations of abusing 300 minors
Surgeon Joël Le Scouarnec, 74, began to be tried on pedophilia charges against 300 children and adolescents in an audience that began on Monday (24.FEV.2025) in the Vannes Commune. The case, which is expected to last 4 months, is considered the largest pedophilia process in the country’s history.
Most of the victims of Scoucouarnec were on average 11 years. Despite being sentenced in 2005 to 4 months in prison in open regime for possession of pedophilia images, the surgeon was able to continue his medical career.
In 2006, the French equivalent of the Regional Council of Medicine concluded that the conviction did not preclude him from exercising the profession. Le Scouarnec’s arrest in 2017 occurred after the complaint of a neighbor, whose 6 -year -old daughter reported being abused by the doctor.
The investigation revealed a collection of dolls, sexual gadgets and thousands of digital files in his inauguration, including a diary where the surgeon recorded details of the crimes committed. In 2020, he was sentenced to 15 years in prison by these and 3 other cases of sexual violence.
The case has been compared to that of the 72 -year -old Frenchman, who was drugged by her husband and raped by 50 men, all sentenced to arrest in December last year.
