Transamazonic Film Festival LGBTQIAPN+ celebrates art and diversity: see programming

With the proposal to give voice to the struggle of many, value art and celebrate the plural existence, the Transamazon Film Festival LGBTQIAPN+ will be held in Rio Branco from February 25 to 27, at Cine Teatro Recreio. In its third edition, the event offers a face-to-face and entirely free programming, democratizing access to culture with shorts, feature films and workshops.

The opening ceremony will take place on February 25, at 6.30 pm, with the presence of human rights activists and fundamental authorities for progress in the struggle for equality in Acre and, throughout the week, 12 short and 5 feature films will be displayed that tell captivating stories about experiences, challenges and achievements of the LGBTQIAPN+community.

The project’s creator, Moisés Alencastro, estimates the holding of the festival: “Art is nothing more than a transformative agent with the potential to promote social changes. And through it we want the whole society to participate and know our stories. With great joy, I propose this project accompanied by talented and diverse people. ”

The Government of Acre is an ally of the cause and promotes activities with the support of the State Secretariat of Communication (Secom), State Secretariat of Social Assistance of Human Rights (Seasdh) and the Elias Mansour Foundation (FEM).

The head of the Seasdh LGBTI+ Rights Promotion Division, Germano Marino, emphasizes government support: “We are mobilizing the public attended by the secretary, because we believe in the richness of this activity and we understand that the display of these films are essential literacy. Initiatives such as this increasingly highlight the importance of the promotion of human rights in our acrean society. ”

The Transamazonic Festival is a project approved by the Paulo Gustavo Law (Complementary Law No. 195/2022), which represents the largest direct investment ever made in the cultural sector of Brazil and allocates R $ 3.862 billion for the execution of cultural actions and projects throughout the national territory.

With the biggest economic incentive this year, the festival went beyond the capital and featured an edition in Cruzeiro do Sul, on February 15 and 16, aiming at greater inclusion and cultural decentralization, reaching a larger number of people and fostering the debate on rights and representativeness.
