A new opinion poll of the National Transport Confederation (CNT), released on Tuesday (25), shows that the attempt of coup d’état divides the opinion of Brazilian voters.
Among respondents who identify with the right -wing spectrum, 54% believe the accusation has political motivation, while 25% see a combination of facts and political reasons. Only 12% consider legitimate complaints.
Among the leftist voters, 49% see the accusations as based on facts, 26% point to a mix between facts and political motivation, and 18% believe there are only political reasons behind the complaint.
The electorate that qualifies as a center, center-left, and center-right presented an intermediate perception: 41% believe there are both facts and political motivation in the prosecution, 30% see only political motivation and 20% consider legitimate allegations.
The survey was conducted between February 19 and 23, with 2,002 interviewed across the country.
