Fund release for those who had opted for an anniversary withdrawal undermines housing financing, says the Brazilian Chamber of the Construction Industry

The government of the president (PT) owes a meeting this 3rd (25.FEV.2025) with union centrals to discuss the release of FGTS (Time Guarantee Fund) of workers who were dismissed and failed to access the money from Termination after opting for the anaquenal withdrawal.

In publication on its official website, CBIC (Brazilian Chamber of Construction Industry) shared that the president of the institution, Renato Correia, should seek dialogue with the federal government and the legislature about the release of FGTS. “We will look for the Ministry of Labor and, if it is not possible a solution, we will sensitize the National Congress. We always seek dialogue ”he declared.

“It is a measure that puts housing financing at risk. Every time FGTS suffers withdrawals out of its mission, investment in housing and infrastructure is impaired ”said Correia.

Lula is expected to sign a MP (Provisional Measure) so that the money can be released after the meeting with the representatives. “The effects of a provisional measure are immediate. This measure is open to other initiatives that distort the bottom ”said belt.

The anaquenal withdrawal was created in 2020 and its adhesion is optional. The worker can withdraw a portion of FGTS in the month of his birthday. In this case, however, in cases of dismissal without cause, the person will not receive the full amount of the fund account if dismissed, only the fine.

According to Labor Minister Luiz Marinho, the government plans to end the anaquenal withdrawal.
