The auditorium of the Cândido Guerreiro Vocational School, in Alte, receives next Thursday, at 16:00, the presentation of the balance of the implementation of the digital program directed to the economic and social development of the interior of the municipality of Loulé. This event will also be launched a teleassistance system for the most vulnerable population.
The Digital Program aims to ensure 98% mobile network coverage in the parishes of the interior of Loulé, namely alte, Ameixial, Salir and Union of Parishes of Querença, Tôr and Benamim.
The initiative results from an investment of 2.5 million euros, contemplating the hiring of technological solutions and digital equipment to the operator NOS, in four strategic areas: social action and support for vulnerable populations, education, tourism and civil protection.
One of the projects included in this program is the implementation of a teleassistence system, which will accompany 160 elderly for 36 months. The start of the project begins with 12 beneficiaries, while a joint action with the Algarve local health unit will allow 50 elderly to be monitored through health indicators.
The program also covers the monitoring of forest fires, the digitization of natural and cultural paths and the creation of interactive sights with augmented reality. These measures aim to attract economic activity, fix population and improve the quality of life of residents within the municipality of Loulé.
With this initiative, it reinforces its commitment to digital inclusion and sustainable development, making the territory more modern, connected and resilient.
