Music, theater and cinema mark the March program at Cineteatro Louletano

In March, the Cineteatro presents a diverse program that includes theater, music, cinema and a festival dedicated to independent bands and publishers.

The month starts with “Memo”, a play by Marlene Barreto that explores the feminine through her two protagonists: Ewa, the interpreter, and the narrator. The story addresses memory manipulation and control over the main character, which is kidnapped by an order that erases the memories. This co -production of the Louletano Cineteatro takes the stage on International Women’s Day, March 8, at 21:00.

Already on March 21, at 9:00 pm, the stage receives “being Portuguese from north to south”, a piece of the Krisalid and Alteatri groups. The play follows four characters on an expedition for Portugal, addressing topics such as emigration, housing, health and bureaucracy, always with a touch of visual humor. The previous day, March 20, there will be a special session for students of the 3rd cycle and secondary education, at 14:30.

Must -see concerts: from Brazil to Cape Verde and the Sephardic tradition

On March 9, at 17:00, two big names in Brazilian and Cape Verdean music take the stage: Mário Lúcio and Chico César, both former governments of culture in their countries. The concert, entitled “Voice and Guitar”, celebrates the 50th anniversary of April 25 and 100 years of Amílcar Cabral.

On March 16, at 5:00 pm, it is the turn of Harpista Helena Madeira to present her new album, “Eternal Melodies of Sefarad.” The concert, an order from the municipality of Loulé, explores the Sephardic repertoire, transmitted over the centuries, and honors people who faced the diaspora.

The month ends with two special concerts by Nuno Guerreiro and the band “Mau Feitio”, on March 30 and 31. The show pays tribute to the centenary of Carlos Paredes, joining his music with poetry and various musical styles. The presentations will feature the participation of the Philharmonic Band of the Recreational Society Artists of Minerva and will be recorded live for future DVD edition.

Dance and music in the show “My body is not just an instance”

On March 14, at 9:00 pm, the Cineteatro receives “my body is not just an instance”, a show of dance and live music of Yola Pinto and Simão Costa, with real -time projections of Videasta João Catarino. The show explores the relationship between the body and its digital representation. The day before, on March 13, there will be a school session at 2:30 pm and a public workshop open to the public at 18:00. The show will feature audio description for blind people with low vision.

French Eo Festival Al-Mutamid

The French cinema cycle, in partnership with the Alliance Française do Algarve, will take place on March 11 in the Auditorium of Solar da Música Nova. The film screened will be Pierre Jolivet by Pierre Jolivet, which addresses a mystery on the French coast.

Already on March 28, the traditional Al-Mutamid festival returns to its 25th edition. This year, the event features Al Felah-Menkub Ensemble, a group that explores the Moorish influence on Flamenco, highlighting the fusion of cultures that gave rise to this musical style.

Festival “Peripheral Market”: emerging music and independent publishers

Between March 21 and 23, there is the second edition of the “Peripheral Market”, a cultural event that promotes emerging music and independent national publishers. The festival takes place in various spaces of the city, such as the Louletano Cineteatro, Bar Baco de Baco and Loulé Bus Terminal. In addition to concerts, there will be vinyl records, second -hand CDs and independent band merchandising.

The return of RHI – Revolution, Hope, Imagination

On March 18, the city receives RHI – Revolution, Hope, Imagination, an initiative of the Art Institute that brings shows, lectures and workshops. The highlight of the program is the show “VICA”, by Ballet Theater Guaíra, directly from Brazil. The play addresses the volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity of the contemporary world, reflecting on the challenges of postpandeia humanity.

Promenade concert dedicated to Mozart

On March 23, the Algarve Orchestra, under the direction of conductor Pablo Urbina, presents the Promenade concert, entitled “Everything that fits in 35 years.” The show is entirely dedicated to Mozart, exploring its genius and the compositions that marked the history of classical music.

Celebration of World Theater Day with “Antigone”

On World Theater Day, March 27, Sillyseason presents its version of “Antigone”, which revisits the classic to question the power of the state. The play brings a contemporary approach, exploring the dreams and challenges of youth in 2025. The production has Portuguese gestural language for deaf people.

The Louletano Cineteatro is accredited by the Portuguese theaters and Cineteatro Network, as well as the Accessible Programming Theaters Network and providing performances with Portuguese Steel Language Interpretation (with Ueply “S” are speakers of Portuguese Gestual Language), others with audio description , for blind or visually impaired people and even relaxed sessions adapted to various audiences, including neurodivergent people.

The CTL is a cultural structure of the Loulé City Council in the field of performance arts, and one of the promoters of the Blue Network – Algarve theaters and the 5 Sensed Network.
