Sand beaches indicate Mars-Ozean, which once covered half the planet


In the 1970s and 1980s, the Viking spacecraft ensured serious speculations for the first time with its recordings that there may have been large waters on Mars. The pictures showed formations that reminded of a coastal structure and extended by large parts of the northern hemisphere. In addition, a deepening was recognizable that can be seen as a former sea floor.
