The Portimão Municipal Water and Waste Company (EMARP) has launched a new heading on social networks, with an original and fun approach, designed to sensitize the citizens for the collection of canine waste and the responsible animal adoption of the municipal kennel.
The star of this initiative is Jackie, a charismatic bitch who has just assumed a prominent role: she was “elected” president of the Parish Council of Patudos de Portimão. In her inaugural speech, the new leader made her mission clear: “Help residents to be more responsible, treat us well and keep our city beautiful and healthy, free of unpleasant gifts!”
Jackie will not be alone in this cause. Beside his side is Vice President Dexter, who assumes the responsibility of the “Zero Waste” portfolio, focusing on separation and correct deposition of waste in the appropriate containers. However, this mission needs more volunteers – and this is where the responsible owners and their pets enter.
The interactive heading invites all followers of Emarp’s social networks to actively engage in the campaign. Owners and dogs can integrate the Citizenship Canine entourage, assuming different roles and sharing their experiences. In addition to online interaction, the campaign includes challenges, educational tips and community initiatives to reinforce awareness and involve the entire community.
As a form of recognition, the most exemplary owners and their pathens will be awarded for good practices, encouraging behaviors that make Portimão a cleaner city, friendly with animals and the environment.
