The US Personnel Management Office informed HR professionals that employees who do not respond to an email asking what they did last week will not be considered to be fired and that no one is required to answer the message, according to with internal communication from the Justice Department.

Musk’s order opened divisions in Trump administration. Some agencies told workers to respond to the billionaire until the end of Monday night. Others told workers to ignore him.
Musk’s order for the country’s 2.3 million civil servants to provide a five-point summary of their work by the end of Monday raised questions about how rich person in the world can exercise in Trump’s government, while he leads an effort to cut the federal payroll.
The personnel management office did not immediately respond to a comment request.
