“This measure will be signed by the government. Caixa’s role is to operationalize, and we are prepared to operationalize, ”he said in an interview with journalists in São Paulo.
Asked about the date of payments, Vieira indicated that Caixa will await the signature of the MP to set a deadline. But reiterated the perception of the government that beginning should occur in March.
President Lula will sign on Friday (28) a Provisional Measure (MP) that releases access to the balance of FGTS for workers dismissed between January 2020 and the date of publication, but were prevented from withdrawing the appeal because they joined the Anniversary loot.
According to the Ministry of Labor and Employment (MTE), the measure will benefit 12.1 million people and make available R $ 12 billion.
According to the government, the amounts will be automatically credited to the FGTS registered account, in two steps. In the first, will be released up to R $ 3 thousand.
If the balance is higher, the remaining value will be released in a second stage, 110 days after the publication of the MP.
Another rule defined by the government is that the measure is only retroactive-that is, it will release money from FGTS that is already locked, and does not contemplate future uses of the Anniversary withdrawal.
That is, after this period, workers who choose the anaquenal withdrawal and are dismissed will not be able to access the balance, which will be retained.
