A new heat wave should take place in Brazil from February 28th to March 6th.
According to Climatempo, the Southeast and the Midwest will have an extreme heat carnival caused by a high pressure system in average levels in the atmosphere, which will intensify air circulation from top to bottom, inhibiting cloud formation and favoring the increase in temperatures.
This is the fifth heat wave that hits the country in the year.
In the period, Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, Paraná, Sao Paulo, Minas Gerais, part of Goiás and Mato Grosso do Sul will mark temperatures of at least 5ºC to 7ºC warmer than the average expected for March.
In another region, Goiás, Mato Grosso do Sul and the Federal District, temperatures should reach temperatures 3ºC to 5ºC warmer than the average of March.
This will be the second climate event involving Southeast and Midwest this year and the fourth that hits the southern region.
It is recommended that in extreme heat situations such as the expected to be extracted to hydration and the prolonged sun exposure, as well as the use of light clothing, regular sunscreen application and it is good to avoid intense physical activity in the warmer hours of the day.
It is important to redouble attention to more vulnerable groups such as the elderly and children.
