Poland breaks records at low food price: How much does butter, flour or exotic fruit cost?

Many of us reflect on prices in the Czech Republic and neighboring countries. How is it possible that it pays to go shopping in Poland, but sometimes to other countries? In some cases it is not a difference in units, but also in tens of crowns per piece.

We, Czechs, sometimes do not know ourselves in ourselves, as it turns out in reflections on food purchases. While in Czech shops (or Czech branches of multinational chains) we often avoid foods we know from Poland, a few days later we will go to a cheaper purchase just beyond our northern border. As if the much discussed difference in the quality of food at once did not exist at all. How would we not when we go to lower prices…

What about Polish prices? You can find out in the video on YouTube by the author of the old Fotr:

Permanent and special prices

The truth is that shopping in Poland is still worthwhile even after the announced price increase. If we took the Biedronka chain, which could be compared to the range and generally the whole offer for the penny, we will find really interesting information. We can look at both permanent prices and action leaflets, which, although prices are still significantly down, but the comparative and informative value are significantly lower. On the other hand: we are setting out for such offers.

Mandarins for 18, flour for 12 crowns

If we look into the e-shop of this chain, we find that for example, butter, for which we often set out many tens of kilometers, we buy without action for 60 CZK, in action for 42 CZK. We buy a kilo of flour at normal prices from 12 CZK, bananas for 42 CZK pounds, as well as pineapple, but also pears. Mandarins are purchased for 18 CZK in action, sugar according to the leaflet temporarily for 10.50 CZK and a half kilo of minced meat for 48 CZK. A liter of milk has Biedronka in a permanent offer for 20 CZK, but in action is about half, yogurt yogobella for 13.20 CZK. It is therefore evident that prices are in some cases slightly, in others significantly below the local level. How do the Poles do it?

State policy and competition

According to experts in the Polish economy, this is a better ability to use subsidies of the European Union, but also a much wider and more complex network of local manufacturers, especially private farmers managing smaller farms. The number of sellers also contribute to more competitors who compete with customers with pricing policy and big discounts. In the end, Czechs also go to the Czechs, although I cannot do us without discount events.

Differences not only in prices

What else should we mention? Lower Polish food prices are also caused by lower production inputs, where local entrepreneurs are still saving compared to the local wages of their employees, although recently the sums on the paycheck closer. Until recently, however, the difference between thousands of crowns per month was calculated. How are you doing? Do you also go shopping abroad, or do you stay loyal to local stores?
