Rapper Oruam was arrested in Rio de Janeiro on Wednesday (26.FEV.2025) for housing a fugitive from justice at his residence. The police operation, which took place in the artist’s mansion, resulted in the capture of Yuri Pereira Gonçalves, sought by association with criminal organization. The information is from Globo TV.
Oruam’s arrest is not related to his previous prison last week for driving a vehicle dangerously in Barra da Tijuca. After paying bail, the rapper was released and announced a new album called Freedom.
She “anti-Oruam”
Federal Deputy Kim Kataguiri (União Brasil-SP) announced in (27.jan) that he intended to present a bill to prevent the use of public resources in the financing of artists shows who, according to him, do “apology for organized crime ”. The proposal, filed in 12.FEV, was nicknamed “Anti-Ouam”, in reference to the rapper, son of Marcinho VP, identified as one of the leaders of the Red Command.
The initiative is based on a project presented at the São Paulo City Council by Councilwoman Amanda Vettorazzo (União Brasil). The text provides for the prohibition of hiring artistic presentations funded by the municipality that mention criminal organizations or drug use.
According to the proposal, any citizen, entity or public agency may report noncompliances to the City of São Paulo through the Municipality Ombudsman. Following the release of the project, Vettorazzo said he received threats from Oruam fans and filed a police report. Kataguiri also spoke about possible retaliation, stating that he is not intimidated by threats.
Who is oruam
Oruam, stage name of Mauro Davi dos Santos Nepomuceno, is 23 years old and gained notoriety in the national rap scenario. In 2022, during a presentation at the Lollapalooza Festival, he wore a T -shirt with his father’s photo and the word “freedom.”
