Police in Poland carried out extensive raids and controls of foreigners, hundreds of them expelled

Since the beginning of this year, 2616 foreigners have been accused of committing various crimes in Poland. On Tuesday, according to PA, Interior Minister Tomasz Siemoniak informed that the procedure was initiated against 398 foreigners for expulsion from the country, the TASR newsletter informs.

According to Siemoniak, nearly 1,500 persons, including members of organized criminal groups, were detained in mid -February. The event was attended by more than 26,000 police officers and a thousand border guards who checked more than 32,000 addresses and sites.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said on Tuesday on the X platform that he received detailed information on measures taken against foreign gangs. He stressed that there were numerous arrests and that there would be expenses.

At the same time, the Border Guard carried out 2400 control of the legality of the residence of foreigners, on the basis of which almost 400 administrative administrative proceedings were initiated. Most of these were citizens of Ukraine, Georgia and Colombia.

Siemoniak recalled that in 2024 foreigners accounted for approximately five percent of the total number of suspects of committing a crime in Poland. He stressed that the greatest risk of crime is in the greatest agglomerations and that, in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice, further measures are being prepared to strengthen the fight against the crime of foreigners.
