Santiago – in large parts of Chile the electricity failed on Tuesday. The capital Santiago was also affected and mining in the world’s largest copper producer was interrupted. Interior Minister Carolina Too said that the blackout was caused by a failure of a transmission management in the north of the country. She ruled out a cyber attack as the cause. The electricity should be available again in the “coming hours”.
