Without a party since leaving the PSDB last year, the former governor (SP) has been talking to right-wing parties with a view to the 2026 election dispute.
A survey by the Paraná Institute released on Tuesday (25) encouraged him to try to return to electoral life next year.
In one of the scenarios of the race to the Bandeirantes Palace, without the presence of Governor Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), Garcia appeared with 12%, ahead of names such as the mayor of Sorocaba, Rodrigo Manga (Republicans), the former mayor of Santo André Paulo Serra (PSDB) and the State Secretary of Government, Gilberto Kassab (PSD)
In Garcia’s assessment, the level achieved is significant, given that he has been dedicated to private initiative since leaving the government in 2022, and has taken a sabbatical in the US. His only political initiative in the period was to have coordinated the government plan of Mayor Ricardo Nunes (MDB) last year.
