The Judicial Police (PJ) has detained four people on Tuesday, in the dozens of search in Greater Lisbon, Setúbal, Sines and Leiria, on suspicions of corruption of customs employees. At stake is the entrance to Cocaine Europe from Latin America.

At issue are employees of the suspected customs of receiving bribes from traffickers to “Closing your eyes” to drug containers from Latin America.

According to, the PJ suspected that employees of the tax authority in customs will have been bribed by the First Capital Command (CCP)from Brazil, and Colombian cartels to let the drug pass.

O is one of largest mafia groups in Latin America. It emerged three decades ago in the prisons of São Paulo and has been present throughout the Brazilian territory and much of South America, especially Paraguay and Bolivia.

The operation aimed at the execution of 32 search warrantsof which 14 households and 18 non -home, to collect complementary evidence. On the ground, they were 150 inspectors and experts from PJ and four magistrates of the Public Prosecution Service (MP).
