We Czechs are a nation of animal lovers and many of us have a cat like a faithful furry companion. But have you ever noticed that cats often start running around the apartment after using the toilet? And do you know why this is the case?
A cat is an essential part of the household for many people. They are quiet and cute animals that often can improve our mood by their presence. Although cats have the reputation of calm and sleepy pets who spend most of the day in a comfortable and heated place, sometimes they can surprise their owners.
Often it is when they start running around the apartment after using the toilet, as if they were deprived of the senses. This sudden explosion of energy remains a mystery for many cat owners. Although there is no clear explanation for this behavior, there are several theories about why cats react this way after using the toilet. So what is the real reason for this strange behavior?

Why do cats run after using the toilet
One of the theories trying to explain why cats run after using the toilet are related to their nervous system. According to some scientists, the nerve may be stimulated in emptying, which causes euphoric state in cats. This nerve can cause the cat to suddenly feel happy and charged with energy. This leads her to start running around the apartment. For cats, the use of the toilet is a kind of “relaxation”, followed by this unusual energy explosion.
On the contrary, other theories argue that cats themselves can cause pain or discomfort. After emptying, they may feel frustrated or confused, so their instinctive behavior is to quickly leave the place associated with these feelings. It is possible that cats in this way respond to a feeling of discomfort or even pain that is associated with emptying, and they need to move away as soon as possible.
Another theory is that cats respond to a natural instinct. In the wilderness, the smell of urine and droppings could attract predators, so cats try to leave this area as quickly as possible. Although domestic cats do not look for predators, this instinct remains and after using the toilet they quickly set out to move away from the place.
So how is it really
Why cats after the toilet behave in this way may remain a mystery forever. Although there are many theories, none of them gives us a definitive answer. But maybe it is really the simplest explanation that cats simply feel happy and light.
After emptying, they may feel relaxed as if they got rid of something that burdened them. This euphoric reaction could be a manifestation of their well -being, and perhaps that is why they decide to run around and express their joy. Whatever the reason, this fun and strange ritual is part of what cats make so irresistible and mysterious.
