The Spaniards like to celebrate the time spent together with family and friends. It is best if it is accompanied by good food. Ordinary dishes in this sunny country often turn into real feasts.
Importantly, Spanish cuisine is largely based on fast, extremely filling and inexpensive dishes for preparation. One of such recipes is Patatas a Lo Pobre – poor potatoes.
Poor potatoes are quite an eloquent name, right? It is immediately known that the recipe will be cheap and simple. This does not mean, however, that there will be a lack of taste here – what is it. Poor potatoes It is a dish from the Andalusia region, where many farmers lived, who had to feed their families using easily available, inexpensive products.
Potatoes, onions, garlic, pepper – these are the basic products you need to prepare this Spanish delicacy. It is also important to use olive oil.
Ingredients:
- 1 kg of potatoes,
- 2 onions,
- 2 red peppers,
- 1 green pepper,
- 2 cloves of garlic,
- 2 bay leaves,
- Sun,
- Pepper,
- 2/3 cup of olive oil.
Peel the potatoes and cut into slices (if there are a large cross -section into halves, and then cut the slices). Finely chop the bare and garlic.
Wash the peppers, dry, get rid of the seed nests and cut into strips.
In a pot with a thick bottom, heat half of the olive oil, throw onions and garlic, salt and fry on low heat until browning (about 10 minutes). Then add peppers and bay leaves. Fry for a moment.
Add the rest of the oil and throw the potatoes, fry everything for 2-3 minutes, then add a little water.
Simply, simmer until the potatoes are soft. At the end, add salt and pepper.
