Keir Starmer wants Donald Trump’s warranty if he closes peace in Ukraine. According to him, this is a way to discourage Vladimir Putin from another invasion.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer met on Thursday with US President Donald Trump at the first personal meeting to apply for US guarantees if the ceasefire in Ukraine is closed. According to Starmer, this is the only way to discourage Russian President Vladimir Putin from another invasion, TASR writes, according to AFP and Reuters reports.
“We will discuss Russia and Ukraine, we will discuss business,” Trump said at the beginning of the White House meeting. In the future, Russia’s peace agreement again attacked Kiev.
The President also told the British Prime Minister that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Greenable will visit the White House on Friday. They are expected to sign an agreement on minerals during the visit. Trump said that this agreement will try to do Ukraine as a “guarantee”.
During the meeting, Starmer handed over to the US President a letter from King Charles III, officially inviting him to the United Kingdom for a second official visit. Trump immediately accepted the invitation, writes Reuters. Both leaders have planned further meetings and subsequently a press conference.
