Racing spoke about the two fans shot during a robbery in Rio de Janeiro on Wednesday (26).
“The Racing Club expresses its deep concern for theft and firearm aggression that they were victims Gabriel Gago and Cristian Pagani, fans of our club, today on a beach of Barra da Tijuca,” the Argentine club published.
Racing will face Botafogo this Thursday (27) at 9:30 pm (Brasília time), at Nilton Santos Stadium, for the return game of the final.
The fans were shot during a robbery in Barra da Tijuca beach, at the time of post 4, in the West Zone of Rio.
“The Racing Club also emphasizes the need for measures to reduce the risk of situations such as the one that occurred, especially those that should be treated by local security agencies,” said the team.
Botafogo spoke
“It regrets the incident that occurred this afternoon in Barra da Tijuca, in which two Racing fans were robbed and shot. The club has already contacted the board of Racing, making it available to help with whatever it is needed. ”
The robbery
A helicopter of the Fire Department was used in. One of the men was sent to the Lourenço Jorge Municipal Hospital, in Barra da Tijuca and the other to Miguel Couto, in Gávea, south of the capital.
In a statement, the Municipal Health Department reported that one of the victims is stable at Lourenço Jorge Hospital, while the second underwent surgery at Miguel Couto Hospital.
According to witnesses, the robbery occurred near the hotel where the Racing team is staying. Tourists would be fans of the Argentine club facing Botafogo on Thursday (27), by the South American Recopa final at the Nilton Santos Stadium.
The Special Tourism Support Office (Deat) investigates the case. Agents perform steps to investigate the authorship of the crime.
