EMARP – Portimão Municipal Water and Waste Company was again recognized by the Water and Waste Services Regulatory Entity (Ersar), this time with the Quality Seal “Urban Waste Management Service (to the consumer)”. This award, attributed only to four entities across the country, highlights Emarp as the only representative of the Algarve region.
The awards and seals of water and waste services, promoted annually by Ersar, distinguish entities that demonstrate excellence and sustainability in the management of public water and waste services. In 2024, among more than 200 managing entities at national level, EMARP was one of 20 awards, standing out in the urban waste category.
This recognition reaffirms EMARP’s commitment to the quality and efficiency of providing urban waste cleaning and collection services, reflecting continuous work for sustainability and improving services to the community.
The distinction with the quality seal in urban waste management (to the consumer) was based on the rigorous fulfillment of criteria established by Ersar, such as: selective collection rate; Economic accessibility of the service; Accessibility of the Selective Biorreseid Deposition Service; Washing of undifferentiated collection containers and biorresides; Greenhouse gas emission and response to complaints, suggestions and information requests.
This is the second consecutive year in which it receives a distinction from Ersar. By 2023, the company had already been recognized with the exemplary quality seal of water for human consumption, consolidating its position as a reference in the sustainable management of essential public services.
The ceremony of delivery of quality stamps Ersar will take place on March 6, in Lisbon, within the scope of the March conferences.
