In the assessment of allies of the president, the president of the PT, (PR), gained strength to assume the political articulation of the government. Even before it was announced, its possible appointment has generated discomfort between ministers of the Allied base parties.
Gleisi will accompany the president on a trip to Uruguay this Friday (28). In conversations, Lula stated that her choice at SRI (Secretariat of Institutional Relations) would be a recognition of her work in charge of the PT, where she has been since 2017.
He recalled that the deputy worked to build stands in the 2018 and 2022 presidential, having talked to all the parties that made up the alliance around her candidacy.
SRI is responsible for the executive’s relationship with the legislature and will be vague with the trip to the Ministry of Health.
Six ministers heard by Sheet They point, however, caveats to Gleisi’s name for the post. They remind the role of coping with the deputy in the presidency of the PT, in which he disputes with allies larger space in the government.
Government members also warn of the risk of cracks in the relationship with the minister, as the petista president publicly spoke out against the economic policy conducted by the farm holder.
In addition, they say that, occupying a chair in the Planalto Palace, Gleisi will have daily access to the president and could influence him left, at a time when the executive has low popularity and would need to compose in Congress to ensure governance.
Petista supporters, in turn, say that she will not have as minister the same behavior in front of the PT, with a discourse focused on militancy.
Within the party, Gleisi’s strengthening can represent a threat to those who aim to inherit Lula’s political capital. It is evaluated that, in a position of visibility, it could be accredited for a presidential race.
There are also ministers who oppose the idea of a petista at Sri – independently of the chosen name – for defending a party deputy from center to function.
The government’s relationship with Congress, especially in the House of Representatives.
In this sense, members of the two houses summons advocate a center name to reverse this picture. A.
The minister (ports and airports), deputy licensed by Republicans, has Lula’s confidence for the position. But allies of the petista claim that it is difficult to displace him from the folder he occupies today for resistance from Republicans, party of the governor of São Paulo (SP).
The caveats to Gleisi’s name are not restricted to the terrace. PT members, deputies and senators evaluate that there is no room for government errors, especially in a moment of low management popularity.
Already the current summit of the Chamber prefers a name of the centrão, but does not offer so much resistance to the name of Gleisi, if Lula opted for a petista, as she worked to make the agreement that led to the election of (Republicans-PB) to president of the house.
Members of the house summit state, however, that a name of the PT in SRI will maintain the pattern of relationship with the legislature that has been the subject of complaints. In the words of a century cardinal, this dynamic is “bankrupt”.
They also rule out the possibility that with a petista at SRI, to be open space for a center parliamentarian to occupy the government’s leadership in the House as a kind of compensation.
Leaders heard by the report say that a center party is unlikely to indicate a representative for this post.
According to reports, Lula remembers the good relationship with Motta in mentioning Gleisi’s name. On Saturday (22), when speaking on the party’s anniversary, the president praised her. He said Gleisi is called politically narrow, but that would be a mistake.
In 2022, after being elected president, the petista gave the same speech during dinner at the official residence of the Senate president. He asked which of the present senators had never talked to her in an attempt to show Gleisi’s breadth.
That year, she assumed the coordination of Lula’s campaign and the transition from the government.
In 2018, Gleisi acted for the neutrality of the PSB in the presidential race, which prevented the party from joining Ciro Gomes (PDT). After election of (PL), he articulated the recomposition of the left field for formation of the opposition front.
In addition to acting on the articulation of the alliance in 2022, advocates of the name of Gleisi remember that, under its conduct, the PT approved with 84% votes the name of (PSB) to Lula’s deputy.
The expectation is that, at SRI, she works to compose an alliance around Lula with a view at 2026.
In addition to the name of Gleisi, the government leaders in the House, José Guimarães (PT-CE), and Senate, Jaques Wagner (PT-BA), are also remembered for the name.
Wagner was probed by Lula assistants for the vacancy, but the conversations did not advance. The senator has claimed that the holder of SRI must be a deputy, given the government’s difficulties with the House.
