French authorities are considering the possibility of denying pregnancy in the case of an 18-year-old woman.

The French Prosecutor’s Office announced on Wednesday that an 18-year-old student from the United States, who threw her newborn child out of the hotel window in Paris, was placed in a psychiatric facility. According to the AFP report, TASR reports this.

The prosecutor’s office said on Tuesday that the police had detained a young woman who fired a newborn from the hotel room window on the second floor. The child who discovered in front of the hotel wrapped in the fabric did not survive the fall. According to AFP, an 18-year-old American gave birth in the hotel room and then threw the baby out the window.

The police started investigating the murder. AP reported on Tuesday that representatives are considering the possibility of denying pregnancy, which is a condition when a woman does not know or denies her pregnancy until childbirth.

A woman could be declared ineligible for court proceedings as it was placed in psychiatric care, writes AFP.
