A woman, who had her identity preserved, was arrested in Envira, inside the Amazonas, after selling her 11 -year -old daughter to pay off a drug debt worth $ 100. Together with her, a 24 -year -old man was also arrested, suspected of having acquired the child and having a relationship with her.

The case was discovered in November 2024, when the girl was taken to the Hospital de Envira with signs of malaise. After medical examinations, it was identified that the child was pregnant.

The Guardianship Council was informed about the situation and called the accused’s sister to give testimony. She stated that the girl’s mother handed her daughter to the man in exchange for payment of $ 100 debt. At the time, the girl was only 9 years old.
Based on this information, the Civil Police began the investigation. In a specialized listening, the girl revealed that her mother had made the deal to resolve drug -related pending.
The two suspects were indicted for crimes of trafficking in persons, abandonment of incapable and rape of vulnerable, and are already available to the court for the progress of the process.
