Deputies Lindbergh Farias (PT-RJ), Guilherme Boulos (PSOL-SP) and Rogério Correia (PT-MG) presented, on Thursday (27), representations to the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) against Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP). They request criminal investigation from the parliamentarian for “Lesa Patria” and supposed conspiracy with US officials against the Brazilian government.

Congressmen also requested the seizure of Eduardo Bolsonaro’s passport. According to the representations, the deputy would be promoting international retaliation against Brazil and against the Minister of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), Alexandre de Moraes. In addition, he would be with the purpose of pressuring the Brazilian justice in the trial of his father, Jair Bolsonaro (PL), investigated for attempted coup d’état.

“Eduardo Bolsonaro is practically residing in the United States. It acts against national interests and Brazilian institutions. Therefore, we request a serious investigation, ”said Farias.

The offensive against the deputy occurs after his recent trips to the United States, where he would have met with republican congressmen and pressured for the advancement of measures contrary to STF decisions. In addition, a project approved by the US Chamber Judiciary Committee aims at Alexandre de Moraes in the country, a measure celebrated by allies of former President Jair Bolsonaro.

Cassation Request

Parallel to the request submitted to the PGR, the PT filed a representation in the House Ethics Commission requesting the revocation of Eduardo Bolsonaro’s mandate for breach of parliamentary decorum.

The document, sent to the president of the House, Hugo Motta (Republicans-PB), accuses Eduardo of ‘sponsoring, in foreign state, retaliation against his own country’, using ‘slanderous and incompatible with the dignity of the position’.

The measure also seeks to prevent Eduardo’s appointment as chairman of the Foreign Relations and National Defense Commission (Creden), a position for which he is appointed as a favorite. ‘Eduardo cannot chair this commission. He needs to be revoked and answer for his crimes, ‘said Lindbergh.

Deputy Rogério Correia (PT-MG) reinforced the criticism, stating that Eduardo ‘demoralizes the Brazilian justice and tries to obstruct his father’s judgment’.

On social networks, Lindbergh also called for the custody of Paulo Figueiredo, grandson of former President João Figueiredo, who reportedly worked in the United States to press the STF.
