Infectologist Dr. Jenilson Leite, in a video made for the ContilNetmakes an important warning to those who intend to enjoy the parties. He highlights the need for prevention, such as the use of condoms, as well as basic care to avoid contamination by communicable diseases.

“The use of condoms in all sexual relations is one of the best forms of prevention. In addition, vaccines such as hepatitis B and HPV are important measures to protect themselves, ”he said.

The expert also warned of the increase in the number of cases of infectious mononucleosis, also known as “kiss disease”, which is contagious and caused by a herpe family virus called Epstein-Barr virus (EBV).

“It can be transmitted through contact with contaminated saliva, causing fever, sore throat and intense fatigue. Herpes lip can also be transmitted by the kiss and remains in the body for a lifetime and can reappear in times of low immunity, ”he explained.

The expert points out that the protection should not be neglected in the midst of the carnival euphoria. In addition, it advises that vehicle drivers avoid driving after consuming alcohol, reinforcing the importance of traffic responsibility to avoid accidents.
