Vaccination is one of the main forms of prevention/ photo: reproduction

The measure seeks to strengthen flu prevention, especially among the groups most vulnerable to the disease. The vaccine will be made available annually for children from 6 months to under 5 years old, elderly and pregnant women, with a single reinforcement scheme.

In addition, vaccination for priority groups, such as people with comorbidities (hypertension, diabetes, obesity and chronic diseases) and immunosuppressed, will be performed through special strategy from the second half of each year.

Indigenous peoples, health workers, teachers, private population and homeless people are also part of the target audience.

According to Renata Quiles, coordinator of Acre’s immunization plan, the inclusion of the vaccine represents an advance in vaccination coverage. “The measure ensures continuous protection of priority groups, reducing complications associated with the disease and reducing overload on health services,” he said.

The vaccine is available in all Basic Health Units (UBSS) of the state, as well as the Reference Center for Special Immunobiologicals (CRIE), in Rio Branco. To be vaccinated, you must present the vaccination card and an identification document.
