Special operation in São Paulo public transport starts this Friday (28.FEV) and runs until Monday (3.mar)

To serve the revelers during Carnival 2025 in São Paulo, STM (Secretariat of Metropolitan Transport), along with the subway and train lines granted to private initiative, announced a special operating scheme. The lines of the subway, viaquatro, viamobility and via their 8 and 9 will work 24 hours a day. The initiative, announced on Thursday (27.FEV.2025), aims to facilitate participants’ access to festivities, especially to the Anhembi sambadrome, where the special group samba schools shows until after 5am.

During continuous operation, Palmeiras-Barra Funda and Portuguese-Tietê stations will allow shipments, while the other stations will be open only for landings between 0h and 4h40. After the uninterrupted period of operation, the lines will return to normal hours, but with a reduced fleet, from 2nd (03.mar.2025) to Tuesday (04.mar.2025) and from Tuesday to Wednesday (05.mar.2025).

CPTM (Paulista Metropolitan Train Company) will adapt the trains intervals to meet the demand of the carnival. The intercity lines managed by EMTU will have a special schedule, ensuring the mobility of passengers between the cities of the metropolitan region of São Paulo and the party places.

In addition to transportation, the São Paulo subway and its partners will offer additional services at Vila Madalena, República, Anhangabaú, Palmeiras-Barra Funda and Sé, from 01 to 04.Mar.2025. The revelers will have access to sunscreen dispensers, hydration points, condom distribution and information about carnival blocks. Mary Kay consultants will be available for thematic makeup, and Detran-SP agents will conduct the “Shine at parties, not on statistics” campaign, offering breathalyzer tests and distributing winds and visions.
