Gerard Piqué believes football needs to evolve to continue to captivate viewers, especially younger generations. To reduce the number of games that end tied without goals, the former Barcelona and Spanish national team suggested a change in the rules, where the teams would not add points in case of 0-0.
“You can’t go to a soccer stadium, spend 50, 70, 90, 100, 200 or 300 euros, in Champions League games, and the result is 0-0. You have to change something. One proposal to evaluate would be that if the games ended 0-0 the teams would not add points. At 70 minutes, the games were going to open themselves, ”said Piqué at Iker Casilla’s“ Bajo Los Palos ”podcast. 🤔
