With the advancement of the tax reform in Congress, representatives of 407 social organizations are traveling the Senate to demonstrate concern with the direction of fiscal citizenship – a name given to the transfer of consumption tax documents to civil society organizations.

Today, 0.05% of the collection of IBS (Tax on Goods and Service) and CBS (Social Contribution on Goods and Services) is intended to finance the programs for incentive to tax citizenship, such as the São Paulo invoice, intended for health services and social assistance.

Senator Mara Gabrilli (PSD-SP) even proposed an amendment to expand 0.50% on the collection. However, it was unsuccessful.

“By excluding the amendment [da senadora Mara]the dismantling of the third sector and the social mobilizations we have already observed in the country continues, as it puts at risk the little that already works, “says the executive director of the Elos Institute, Thais Polydoro.
