The published documents in the case of Jeffrey Epstein point to his network of influential contacts and contain information that has already escaped in the past.
US Attorney General Pam Bondi, on Friday, published a set of documents concerning the case of former US financier Jeffrey Epstein accused of abusing minors. TASR reports on the basis of AFP report.
According to Bondi, the documents were published as part of the promise of a transparent government, which the US President Donald Trump gave, although it was not immediately clear whether they contain new information. According to the Ministry of Justice, many of these documents have been leaked in the past.
Documents include a list of evidence, flight plans and a list of conventions that was probably part of the trial with Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s former girlfriend, who was sentenced to 20 years in 2021 for helping Epstein to secure minors to rich clients who have sexually abused them.
Bondius initially asked for complete documents for the case, thanks to which she obtained approximately 200 pages of documents. Later, however, she learned about the other thousands of unpublished parties of documents, so the US Federal Office for Investigation (FBI) asked to provide it by Friday morning.
According to AFP, Epstein had a network of influential friends in the US and abroad and was accused of raping young girls. However, his death in August 2019 prevented further prosecution.
