The governments of the United States and Ukraine did not formalize this Friday (28.FEV.2025) the agreement for the exploration of Ukrainian rare lands. The decision came after the meeting between Presidents Donald Trump (Republican Party) and Volodymyr Zelensky.
The negotiations advanced throughout the week. According to US media, the terms of an agreement between the countries were reached on the last 3rd (25.FEV.2025) and the understanding provided for the exploration of strategic minerals in Ukraine, such as manganese, uranium, titanium, lithium and zirconium, as well as coal, gas and oil.
For the Republican, the exploitation of these resources is a form of compensation for the financial assistance provided by the US during the war. Trump has said several times it was necessary “Make Ukraine pay”, and that would not leave other countries “Take advantage” of the Americans.
