Potato pancakes are a classic of Czech cuisine, but if you add fragrant greaves, you get an irresistible delicacy that melts on the tongue. This recipe comes from South Bohemia, specifically from the surroundings of Třeboň, where it enjoys great popularity. And no wonder – the pancakes are crunchy, beautifully fragrant and thanks to the greaves they have an even better taste.
You will only need a few basic ingredients to prepare. Potatoes play the main role, which is best to cook the day before and let it cool. You will also need smooth flour, eggs, salt and of course greaves. They give patties unmistakable taste and crispness. If you like a stronger taste, you can add a pinch of marjoram or garlic.

How to step by step
Peel the potatoes and grate on a fine grater. Add flour, eggs, salt and make a smooth dough. Finally, work the chopped greaves. From the dough, create smaller pancakes and fry them in a dry pan or bake on a slightly greased sheet in the oven. The finished pancakes can be served alone, with sauerkraut or with buttermilk.

Consume them with an IS carefully washed with a skin that is full of fiber and at the same time is the most important substances under it, such as vitamin C, ”advises Ing. Josef Králíček, chairman of the Czech potato union.
