Do not cook potatoes in water: there is a much tastier alternative

Boiled potatoes, as one of the most common side dishes in Czech cuisine, are always prepared in water. But there is another, much tastier option that you probably haven’t tried. It’s a great pity.

Why would potatoes always have to have a typical taste without other undertones and interesting variations? Sure, we are used to them and many foods are great in this form, but the change may ever be pleasant, don’t you think?

It’s just an idea

Not only even better taste, but also higher nutritional value will be given to potatoes with one simple step. Do not cook them in ordinary salted water, but into the broth of the meat – for example to chicken. It is such a simple idea that many may think about why we never thought of it before. Often, however, such small things remain undeveloped. Now we have the opportunity to try easy, but a big variation.

Cook the classic broth

First, it will be necessary to prepare a tasty chicken broth, but we can all manage it. Cook chicken skeletons (or even the whole chicken if you can use the meat for example in the sauce) in the water as you are used to – mostly with the addition of root vegetables, herbs to taste and preferences of the family and of course important spices. The classic is salt, pepper, bay leaf, new spices…

Exactly to your liking

As soon as the broth is finished, potatoes will come. These can be already peeled, washed and sliced ​​into such large pieces as the family is used to. In some households they swear to small even cubes, elsewhere they would not be without coarser pieces. It does not matter, but the difference is needed for cooking and also in the ability to soak the taste of the broth throughout the piece. In this case, it is preferable to choose smaller pieces.

No spells or lines

Put the potatoes in a pot and add a pouring broth of the meat. Furthermore, we cook everything as we are used to, nothing changes in the procedure. Even in this case, the attachment will be ready for administration approximately twenty minutes after reaching the boiling point. This time, however, we can look forward to a slightly different experience than Kryštof Columbus originally delivered from overseas.

More flies with one shot

If you cook more meat as a preparation for cooking potatoes in the broth, you will gain a large lead to prepare other dishes. More meat also means more strong broth and this will be a great advantage and savings. In addition to unusually flavored potatoes, you will also prepare the soup and the main meal.

The soup will be in a few minutes

The soup is simply formed by the separation of part of the merciful broth. If you want, you can cut into it already cooked vegetables, but it is always a little more honest variant, at this stage, let the chopped fresh vegetables in the broth. It does not carry signs of long stay in the water, will be tastier and more pleasant for bite. Then just add just a few noodles or egg – and the first course will be done.

Would you like a quick sauce?

You can also handle the pepper sauce as well. The broth will be finished, so it is enough to fry the onion, pour it with this liquid, spice up with pepper and other spices according to normal taste and calmly various regional recipes and wait a few minutes for everything to cook. Then add a piece of butter and a little flour, mixed in milk to thicken and we can dine. Meat and potatoes will be prepared, so there is nothing else to do but wish the boarders a good taste.
