Tatuapé Academics, third in the São Paulo Carnival in 2024, presented at dawn on Saturday (1) a parade on the evolution of justice throughout history.
With the plot “justice – injustice in any place is a threat to justice everywhere”, developed by Carnival Wagner Santos, the school approached the concepts of law, punishment and equity from archaic systems to the present day.
One of the striking moments of the parade was the presence of the phrase “A Vida Pá Pé”, said by actress Fernanda Torres when she was nominated for the film I’m still here. The expression appeared in a float that questioned the state’s ability to guarantee justice, reinforcing the central debate of the film starring Torres.
The visual dimension of the parade also caught the attention, with the 55-meter-long opening, which portrayed the thinkers responsible for the first legal systems. The show still brought a representation of Moses opening the Red Sea, where the Bahians represented the waters as the Hebrews crossed.
Another impactful scenographic resource was the chromatic carpet, which symbolized the evolution of laws and justice: colors began dark, referring to disorder, and clarified, symbolizing the progress of Enlightenment thinking.
The parade also had strong moments, such as the image of a woman being burned, referring to the Inquisition and the historical errors of. However, the school faced technical problems with flames that failed by lighting in floats, which can compromise its grade.
Tatuapé’s narrative culminated in an allegory representing the Brazilian Constitution, reinforcing the idea that justice is still evolving.
Parade Agenda
After the Tatuapé Academic Parade, the Rosas de Ouro School enters the avenue. Then, in the order, the day is the day the school green and white shirt.
In the early hours of Saturday to Sunday (29), the second part of the associations perform at the Anhembi Sambadrome. From 23h, the Golden Eagle opens the parade, followed by Empire of Casa Verde, Alegre Youth, Gavião da Fiel, academics of Tucuruvi, star of the third millennium and Vai-Vai.
